Flight time from Perth to Singapore: 5 hours 5 minutes
Our hotel choices: Margaret River Hideaway
Perth is a lovely destination for a family honeymoon. Most places have specially curated experiences for children so you don’t have to worry about them and how to keep them occupied!
My travel experience included a stay at Margaret River, a 3 hr 30 min drive from Perth City and includes stopovers at Madurah and Busselton. Cavensham Wildlife and The fruit corner also requires 30-45 min driving from Perth so this is a itinerary which requires car rental. My top 10 family honeymoon ideas in Perth are…
(1)Madurah Dolphin Cruises ( 1 hr from Perth City)
Mandurah Cruises & Gift Shop 73 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210, Australia
I recommend booking tickets online Here . A short cruise that promised dolphins and delivered! Many oohs and aahs as we gawked over the dolphins in the sea.
(2) Farmstay at Margaret River Hideaway ( 3 hr 30 min from Perth City)
We stayed at Margaret River Hideaway, cottage 4 was modern, clean and well furnished. Waking up to chickens, peacocks and alpacas at door step was a treat especially for us, being Singaporeans, the only chickens we saw were the ones hanging upside down at the Chicken Rice Stall at our foodcourt. Alternate days of animal touring/feeding available.
(3)The Fruit Corner ( 45 min from Perth City)
Pluck fresh fruit like apples, plums, cherry tomatoes, plums and taste the fresh goodness. An amazing experience that my entire family thoroughly enjoyed. More updated information Here.
(4)Core Cider House ( 50 min from Perth City)
A few minutes from the fruit corner is core cider house. A must visit as the cider is as fresh as it gets and the kids are occupied with outdoor play areas.
(5)Cheeky Monkey Brewery and Cidery ( 3 hr 30 min from Perth City)
This one is a great visit as the food and drink is great and the kids playground too. Lovely views and both adults and kids will have a lovely lunch.
(6) Fremantle Markets ( 40 min from Perth City)
Fresh produce and mini wildlife park displays (we saw a snake and koala) on Sat or Sundays. A fun day out.. do cover the Freemantle WA Maritime museum, have fish and chips at Cicerello’s by the docks. More updated information here.
(7) Cavensham Wildlife Park ( 1 hr from Perth City)
Lovely wildlife park where you can get up close and personal with many Aussie animals. This is the little one feeding Kangaroos. Animal show was interesting as we saw a sheep being sheared.
(8) Busselton Jetty ( 2 hr 30 min from Perth City)
A 1.7km train ride ON a jetty! scenic and lovely views. Worth a visit if you want to break your drive from Perth to Margaret River.
(9) Ivey Watson Playground, King’s Park
Huge playground map will allow for 1-2 hours of fun. Coupled with the fact that it’s in King’s Park means that you will spot a variety of birds during your visit there. Great cafe available there as well. More information here.
(10) Visit a beach!
If the weather permits, please visit a beach. We visited three and all three have a quiet charm.
Be it a lovely breakfast brunch with a view of the deep blue sea at the Hamptons. More information here.
Gnarabup Beach above is in the Margaret River region so a quick stopover if you are there is great! It is a small beach but also has a small cafe and many families.
Cottlesloe is my favourite family honeymoon beach as there seems to be a lot of activity here. Playgrounds galore and many restaurants’cafes across the road. We were lucky to see an Art installation right on the beach.
Whatever you choose, wherever you go, you will make lovely memories to stay.
I hope my post was useful in helping you choose a few fun family honeymoon spots.
Have a lovely Family Honeymoon!
